Pakawalan Mo Ako (1981)
Tagalog Movie. Anna Guevarra and Freddie Villasenor have been sweethearts since their student days. Anna, who is still in college, is the daughter of a lower middle-class couple, Mang Tobias a construction worker and Aling Ester. Freddie is a fresh law graduate son of affluent parents, Don Ramon and Dona Ines. Freddie has been urging Anna to marry him, but she asks him to wait until he has established himself as a lawyer. Tradegy strikes when Mang Tobias meets an accident and dies. At the wake, Bernard San Diego, son of the building owner, Don Nilo, meets Anna and is strongly attracted to her. Now that Mang Tobias is dead, Freddie is the more insistent on marrying Anna, but she refuses to become a burden to him while he is still struggling to make a name for himself, especially when her mother falls seriously ill. She quits college, and works at several odd jobs which barely help them eke out a living. Bambi, a former classmate, now a hospitality girl, offers her a job, but Anna is hesitant until her mother has a serious attack which requires hospitalization, and she finds herself forced to accept Bambi’s offer. She hides the fact of her new occupation from Freddie, and even tries to break off with him, but he is persistent that they go on with their marriage plans and because of her great love for him, she gives herself to him. But Anna finds that her new job is lucrative and she can now afford a new place and the expenses of her mother’s confinement. When Don Nilo’s building is inaugurated, he hires the hospitality girls of Ed Villapol; Anna and Bambi among them. After that, Bernard often hires Anna’s service and one night they are seen in a restaurant by Techie, Freddie’s sister. When finally Freddie is able to convince Anna to meet his family, Techie invites Bernard without her brother’s knowledge, and unmasks Anna. Quick Jump: You don't Speak Tagalog?
